  • Financial and social licence to operate
  • Operational aspects and case histories
  • Stability of tailings dams, and tailings run-out and impact
  • Tailings dewatering and placement
  • Innovative mine waste management, including integrated and co-disposal of tailings and coarse wastes
  • Mine waste water balance and management
  • Mine waste monitoring, surveillance, Emergency Response Plans and regulation

In addition, a number of Keynote Lectures is proposed covering recent tailings dam failures, and implications for the mining industry and its regulation, plus Expert Panels on responses to continuing high profile tailings dam failures, training the next generation of mine waste practitioners, acid and metalliferous drainage, and value-added mine closure.  The conference will be followed by a choice of mine site tours.
